      <title>Annual Pioneer Awards presented in Memoriam of Harry Katz</title>
      <description>&lt;p align="center"&gt;&lt;strong&gt;&lt;em&gt;&lt;font face="Times New Roman, serif"&gt;Award recognizes lifetime/career achievement in the pest management industry&lt;/font&gt;&lt;/em&gt;&lt;/strong&gt;&lt;/p&gt;

&lt;p&gt;&lt;font face="Times New Roman, serif"&gt;HARRISBURG (Nov. 22, 2017) – At the recently held Pennsylvania Pest Management Association (PPMA) Annual Board Dinner, one former PPMA member was presented with the annual Pioneer Awards.&lt;/font&gt;&lt;/p&gt;

&lt;p&gt;&lt;font face="Times New Roman, serif"&gt;The Pioneer Award recognizes those individuals who have unselfishly served the Association and the pest management industry over a period of at least ten years. It is a lifetime/career achievement award, and may be awarded to no more than three individuals in any one year. Along with a commemorative plaque, the award also confers Honorary Member status on its recipients. This award is dedicated to those who have served as pioneers in the field of pest control in Pennsylvania and have forged the way for continued growth today.&lt;/font&gt;&lt;/p&gt;

&lt;p&gt;&lt;font face="Times New Roman, serif"&gt;The recipient of the 2017 Pioneer Award Winner was in Memoriam of Harry Katz. Mr. Katz passed away in August, 2016.&lt;/font&gt;&lt;/p&gt;

&lt;p&gt;&lt;font face="Times New Roman, serif"&gt;&lt;br&gt;
Harry Katz was introduced to the Pest Control industry by a family friend, Fred Pollack. That introduction led to a respected career as an industry leading educator and advocate. Active in the Western PPMA Division, he was also a member of the Entomological Society of America and was an honorary member of Phi Chi Omega. He was instrumental in preserving the work of Arnold Mallis, who was a dear friend, among many professional accomplishments.&lt;/font&gt;&lt;/p&gt;

&lt;p&gt;&lt;em&gt;&lt;span style="background-color: white;"&gt;&lt;font style="font-size: 15px;" color="#000000"&gt;The Pennsylvania Pest Management Association is dedicated to leading the structural pest management industry in the Commonwealth by providing superior education opportunities for the industry, a united voice for the industry in the Commonwealth, and maintaining the trust of its members, as well as the citizens and government of the Commonwealth, while sustaining its tradition of environmental stewardship.&lt;/font&gt;&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/em&gt;&lt;/p&gt;

      <title>Jeff King Named to First Class of NPMA Executive Leadership Program</title>

&lt;p&gt;&lt;font style="font-size: 14px;" color="#4A4A4A" face="Helvetica Neue, Helvetica, Arial, sans-serif"&gt;King, who currently serves as governor of the Northeast Division of the Pennsylvania Pest Management Association (PaPMA) as well as PaPMA education chair, said he looks at the program as an opportunity to meet and collaborate with pest management leaders nationwide.&lt;/font&gt;&lt;/p&gt;

&lt;p&gt;&lt;font style="font-size: 14px;" color="#4A4A4A" face="Helvetica Neue, Helvetica, Arial, sans-serif"&gt;“When industry representatives from across the country work together, we have the potential to share and build upon our collective knowledge to strengthen our industry’s reputation and lay the foundation for the education and advancement of future generations of leaders,” said King. “I am both honored and excited to be part of this inaugural Executive Leadership Program. I look forward to gaining business and leadership skills I can take back to our state association as well as to my own business, and to contributing my own insights to this national initiative.”&lt;/font&gt;&lt;/p&gt;

&lt;p&gt;&lt;font style="font-size: 14px;" color="#4A4A4A" face="Helvetica Neue, Helvetica, Arial, sans-serif"&gt;The NPMA Executive Leadership Program, which began on January 3, 2017, blends a two-year self-study curriculum with ongoing interpersonal communication with NPMA leaders, including mentorship. Criteria for participants includes a history of pest management industry involvement, behaviors indicative of leadership potential, the drive to succeed, commitment to the advancement of NPMA and the industry overall, and personal character and integrity.&lt;/font&gt;&lt;/p&gt;

Upon graduation from Temple University, he incorporated Philadelphia Exterminating Company. After over thirty years working at his pest control business, Harvey made consulting his exclusive vocation post selling his pest management company.&lt;/font&gt;&lt;/p&gt;

&lt;p&gt;&lt;font style="font-size: 14px;" color="#4A4A4A" face="Helvetica Neue, Helvetica, Arial, sans-serif"&gt;Harvey is President of Pest Control Marketing Company - a business and marketing consulting firm to the pest management industry. He is a regularly featured business columnist for Pest Management Professional Magazine and served on its editorial advisory board. He is also a frequent guest columnist for many state newsletters. Harvey has been a guest for the National Pest Management Association, The Purdue Conference and just about every state association in the country. Harvey’s book, “Marketing Matters…The Ultimate Reference Guide to Making the Most of Your Marketing Money,” published in 2008, is still being advertised and sold.&lt;/font&gt;&lt;/p&gt;

&lt;p&gt;&lt;font style="font-size: 14px;" color="#4A4A4A" face="Helvetica Neue, Helvetica, Arial, sans-serif"&gt;Harvey served as President of the Pennsylvania Pest Management Association and as Governor of the Eastern Division. He was editor/publisher of the state newsletter, “The Inspector,” for over fifteen years. He served on and chaired several committees at both the State and Eastern Division levels.&amp;nbsp; Harvey is a past recipient of the Pennsylvania Pest Association’s, Stanley G. Green, Man of the Year Award for his service to the association. Harvey served three terms on the Board of Directors of the National Pest Management Association. He also served on numerous NPMA Committees and was an NPMA media specialist. Harvey was Chairman of the marketing committee for Pi Chi Omega, the national fraternity of the Pest Management Industry. Harvey was featured in a past issue of Pest Management Professional Magazine’s “Newsmaker” column as one of our industry’s leaders.&lt;/font&gt;&lt;/p&gt;
